LINEN KING ANNOUNCES MOVE TO COLUMBIA: an Oklahoma-based provider of laundry services to the healthcare industry will be opening a 52,000 square foot facility at 2600 Maquire Boulevard in the LeMone Office and Industrial Park. Linen King will employ more than 200 people for fiscal year 2010 with revenues approaching $20M. Read more.

IBM ANNOUNCES MOVE TO COLUMBIA: On Monday, May 17, 2010 IBM officials came to Columbia and announced 800 new jobs by 2012 for Columbia's new IBM location. ANALYTICAL BIO-CHEMISTRY LABORATORIES has selected St. Louis-based ARCO Construction Co. for a $4.2M laboratory renovation and expansion for its chemical division at its original campus in Columbia. The renovations include upgrading exterior finishes, redesigning and modernizing 27,000 sq. ft. of laboratory and office space, and construction of a 10,000 sq.ft. addition, which includes a 2,000 sq. ft. walk-in freezer and a 5,000 sq. ft. sample prep area. The Columbia Plant has worked over 560 days (694,000 hours) recordable free, and over 910 days (1.2 million hours) without a lost time incident. The award of recognition will be presented during the May 11-13, 2009 Region VII VPPPA Conference in Kansas City, MO.

MU LIFE SCIENCE BUSINESS INCUBATOR ANNOUNCES FIRST TENANT: The University of Missouri Life Science Business Incubator at Monsanto Place opened Jan. 5. The 33,000-square-foot facility has spaces for faculty startups and outside companies. Equinosis has signed on to be one of the first tenants at the new facility. Equinosis manufactures the Lameness Locator, a product that uses sensors and computer software to test horses for lameness. Read more...
