This month, the spotlight shines on Shelter Insurance Companies. Founded in 1946, Shelter has always been an exceptional corporate citizen. With more than 3200 employees in 13 midwestern states, Shelter is an industry leader in insurance and financial products and services. In their 13-state operating area, approximately 1400 Agents provide five major types of insurance protection: home, life, car, farm, and business. Shelter Agents, along with the Shelter Foundation, also support many community development initiatives. In 2000, more than $460,000 in scholarship money was distributed to high school seniors in Shelter's operating area.
