Kraft Heinz announced closures do not include Columbia plant

11-Nov 06, 2015

Kraft Heinz announced on Nov. 4, 2016, plans to close Kraft Heinz plants in Madison, Wisconsin, Fullerton and San Leandro, California; Federalsburg, Maryland; Campbell, New York; Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania; and St. Marys, Ontario, Canada.

The Columbia plant was not listed among the closures.  The Boone County Commission on July 21 approved the use of Chapter 100 Revenue Bonds to expand and improve the Columbia Foods facility. Kraft Heinz requested the bonds as part of its proposal to invest over $100 million to modernize and increase the capacity of the Columbia plant.
